Our Questions - Her Answers
We asked Gretchen from Grow Some Good (who is currently working on composting at KCS) questions about composting, here are her answers.
"Composting is important, it's important because it not only reduces waste and reduces methane and all of those greenhouse gases but it also increases crop yield and soil quality. All of those things are vital to our community right now and we need all of them in this fight against climate change."
"I do think everyone should compost, personally, I compost everyday (it is my job) and I realize it's unrealistic to ask everyone in the world to suddenly start composting but I do ask we at least reduce food waste because both of the issues, while tied together, are important separately and together."
"I see composting as a way to stop climate change, obviously it's my main way but to everyone else it's just one of those ways. Composting could be a huge way to stop climate change but people aren't viewing it that way (that's why we have to change their view on it), and if they did, then yes, I do think it could be a main way to stop man-made climate change."
